Position Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Inspect, repair and test fire extinguisher using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment and monitoring device. Hydro test low pressure cylinder. Dismantle extinguishers and examine mechanical parts, extinguisher agents and expelling means; replace worn or damages parts. Install fire extinguishers and recharge them with approved materials. Inspect/service rental and customers PPE unit. Working conditions include restricted movement, lifting or carrying of heavy objects. Receive incoming shipments and deliveries. Tag all products to be placed on the sales floor. Check and report all damaged goods to Purchasing. Receive and verify quantity and quality of products to that of the purchase order. Pull and Pack products for local and neighbor island shipping. May assemble and move furniture. Assist customers with loading and unloading of products. Operate forklift; EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma. Skill in inspection, repair, maintenance and testing techniques for fire safety equipment. Ability to work with small tools. Ability to lift 55lbs. Valid Hawaii issued Driver License with clean abstract. Competent computer skills. Strong customer relation skills. Ability to work independently WORK CONTEXT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
