TRAFFIC CONTROL ESTIMATOR
Full Time - Regular
POSITION SUMMARY: The Estimator will evaluate bid specifications; prepare bids or cost estimates that cover every aspect of a particular building project; solicit and maintain communication with customers; develop work area traffic control plans that meet customers work zone and project phasing requirements as well as ascertaining if permit services are required; ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Meet with customers to develop work area traffic control plans that meet customers’ requirements. Available to occasionally work overtime and weekends. Possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record. Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Assist in answering phones. Assist walk-in customers with placing orders. Prepare estimation for upcoming projects; KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Customer Service – the individual responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service and maintains confidentiality. Oral Communication – the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Written Communication – the individual edits work for spelling and grammar and is able to read and interpret written information. Planning / Organizing – the individual prioritizes and plans work activities and uses time efficiently. Dependability – the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance. Safety and Security – the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and material properly EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED; WORK CONTEXT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
